Kihoon Sung AI music research study
10-20 minute survey on identifying AI music, University of Auckland Masters project
Shared on behalf of Kihoon Sung, pursuing a Masters in Composition at the University of Auckland:
Kia ora everyone,
Currently, I am researching the socioeconomic and ethical issues of AI-generated music. As we all know, whilst the industry has had a lot of positive outcomes of what AI can bring to the table, there has also been a stir in the arts industry with AI-generated media, including music.
I invite you to participate in my research, by completing a questionnaire in which you are asked to differentiate between AI-generated music and music created by human musicians. By participating in this research, you will be aware of how far AI-generated music has come, what effects this will have on our music industry in the coming years, especially for the people who listen to music leisurely.
This questionnaire contains five questions and should take between 10 and 20 minutes to complete. All levels of musical background are welcome, even if you have never studied music before at any level of education and your participation will be gratefully appreciated.
The questionnaire will be held between 17/03/2025 to 17/04/2025, and I would greatly appreciate your participation.
