In October 2010, the Japanese Federation of Composers will hold an ACL Special Event in Tokyo. (The next full ACLFestival will take place in Taipei, Taiwan, in 2011). CANZ will submit scores for consideration for performance at the Special Event. The following Calls for Scores have been issued, and scores in the following categories are welcomed:
1) The Festival’s opening concert (on 1 October 2010) will feature orchestral works with voice. The duration of these pieces can be within 3 to 15 minutes. For example, it can be an opera aria or a song with orchestra, etc. If the composer/ACL section can send a singer to the festival to perform the piece, JFC will cover two nights of accommodation for the singer.

Theconcert will be given by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra at Bunkyo Civic Main hall on 3 October 2010. A selected composer must have some experience in conducting professional orchestra as the composer will be asked to conduct his/her own piece in this concert.
