New Zealand has a proud history of success at the Asian Composers League Young Composers Competition.
Eligible CANZ members (those born after 20 September 1983) are invited to submit a work for consideration for this year’s Competition. CANZ will select one composer to represent New Zealand at the ACL Young Composers Competition to be held in Singapore.
CANZ will apply for funding for the selected composer to attend the festival. The cost of their accommodation and some meals will be covered by the Asian Composers League. The overall winner from all selected countries will receive US$1000 as well as an additional (non-paid) commission for a future festival. Second and third placings may also receive smaller cash prizes.
A jury of no fewer than three CANZ members will decide on the selected composer by April 22.
A work for 1-3 percussionists. The full list of instruments is here.
